Tems co-headlines the opening night of All Points East at London’s Victoria Park on August 21, sharing the bill with British singer Jorja Smith. Davido headlines his own “Davido & Friends” concert at Crystal Palace Bowl on August 14. Both shows sit inside one of the busiest Afrobeats summers London has ever hosted.
Diaspora Cities Become The New Frontline
Zlatan is running a multi-city UK tour through June and July, hitting London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, and Dublin with a full live band. Rising star Fola is heading in the opposite direction, launching his first Canadian tour after warm-up shows in London, Birmingham, and Dublin.
These are not one-off appearances anymore. Nigerian artists are now building entire tour circuits specifically around diaspora cities, treating London, Toronto, and Dublin the way they once treated Lagos and Abuja.
“Artists route their tours through massive arenas in cities like London and New York to capitalise on diaspora spending power,” according to industry coverage of the shift, a strategy that keeps paying off season after season.
